CBU and Riverside County Launch ANCHOR Fellowship for Future Human Services Leaders

California Baptist University (CBU) and the Riverside County Department of Public Social Services have established the ANCHOR Fellowship, a new program aimed at developing future leaders in the human services sector. The inaugural cohort, comprising nine graduate students in social work, began their participation in the fall of 2026.
The fellowship provides students with practical leadership experience through direct involvement in the county's public social services operations. This partnership is designed to address the growing demand for qualified leadership within the social services field in the region.
Through the ANCHOR program, students will engage in various roles within the department, receiving mentorship and training in administrative and programmatic leadership. The objective is to equip them with the necessary skills for complex positions in human services.
CBU's School of Social Work and Riverside County officials collaborated to develop the fellowship's curriculum, ensuring participants gain a comprehensive understanding of public social services and leadership challenges.
