CDU/CSU parliamentary group releases March 2026 newsletter

The CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the German Bundestag has issued its newsletter for March 2026, outlining the group's recent activities and policy decisions.

A significant legislative update concerns the repeal of the previous "heating law." This is being replaced by a "Building Modernization Law" intended to grant property owners more discretion in choosing their heating systems, while ensuring climate protection remains affordable and acceptable.

Furthermore, the newsletter highlights progress in security policy, including amendments to air security legislation aimed at countering drones. Other initiatives discussed include measures to limit irregular migration and to accelerate infrastructure development, such as roads and railways, through streamlined planning processes.

The publication also commemorates former Bundestag President Rita Süssmuth, who passed away in February at the age of 88. The group reaffirmed Germany's continued support for Ukraine on the fourth anniversary of the Russian invasion.
