Reykjavík, Iceland – The band Celebs debuted the official song for the 2024 Children's Culture Festival, titled "Spyrja eftir þér" (Asking For You), on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Hlíðaskóli school. The performance took place in the school's auditorium.

Democracy is the central theme for this year's festival, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Iceland. The song's lyrics were developed by fourth-grade students in Reykjavík based on their perspectives on democracy. The band Celebs, comprised of siblings Valgeir Skorri, Hrafnkell Hugi, and Katla Vigdís, composed the music and collaborated with the children on the lyrics.

The Children's Culture Festival is scheduled to run from April 23 to April 28 across the city, featuring a diverse program for children and families. The festival officially opens with Celebs performing "Spyrja eftir þér" at Harpa's Eldborg Hall on April 23. All festival events are free of charge.

During the event, fourth-grade students presented Mayor Einar Þorsteinsson with letters outlining their societal concerns and proposed changes. These ranged from calls to ban war and violence to ensuring food for the needy, promoting world peace, and advocating for the cessation of tobacco sales.
