Cellectis has officially added Cécile Chartier to its board of directors, following a formal appointment process concluded during the company’s annual shareholders meeting in late June 2023. The appointment aims to integrate deeper expertise in next-generation cell and gene therapies into the company’s leadership structure.
Dr. Chartier currently serves as the Chief Scientific Officer at NextVivo, Inc. Her professional background includes a tenure as Vice President of Research at Iovance Biotherapeutics, where she managed the development of tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte therapies. Prior to that, she spent over a decade at OncoMed Pharmaceuticals, focusing on target validation and IND filings.
CEO André Choulika stated that the addition of Dr. Chartier is expected to assist the company as it advances its pipeline. Cellectis focuses on allogeneic CAR T-cell therapies, positioning itself within the competitive field of gene-editing treatments.
