Cellectis details allogeneic CART-cell therapy roadmap

Cellectis hosted an R&D and analyst day in New York City on September 11, gathering investors and industry experts to review the company’s current pipeline and technological capabilities. The session focused on the transition toward allogeneic, or off-the-shelf, chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies.

During the event, researchers and industry partners highlighted the clinical and economic potential of immunotherapies. Professor Laurence Cooper of the MD Anderson Cancer Center discussed the advantages of using standardized T-cell approaches in cancer treatment, moving beyond patient-specific manufacturing models.

Technical presentations covered the company’s use of TALEN technology for genome editing, which the company frames as a central pillar of its efforts to create adaptable T-cells. Additionally, executives and partners from Rinat, a unit of Pfizer, provided insights into ongoing collaborations aimed at overcoming tumor-driven immune evasion.
