Cellectis Presents Preclinical Data for Gene Therapy Programs
Cellectis presented preclinical data in fall 2022 from two gene therapy programs targeting sickle cell disease and mucopolysaccharidosis type I at the ESGCT congress.
Cellectis, a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing gene therapies, announced in October 2022 that it presented preclinical data at the 29th Congress of the European Society of Gene and Cell Therapy (ESGCT).
The company shared peer-reviewed preclinical results from its TALEN gene-editing technology-based programs. One program focuses on a hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell (HSPC)-based gene therapy for sickle cell disease. The other program targets mucopolysaccharidosis type I.
These presentations, held in Edinburgh from October 11-14, 2022, aimed to share the company's research findings and advancements in developing gene therapies for these rare diseases. Dr. Arianna Moiani, Senior Scientist & Team Leader Innovation Gene Therapy, gave an oral presentation on the sickle cell disease program.
The ESGCT congress serves as a significant platform for researchers and clinicians in the gene and cell therapy fields. Cellectis's presentations highlight the company's efforts to advance novel treatment options for patients with significant unmet medical needs.
