Cellectis reports preclinical data on APOC3 gene editing
Cellectis has presented preclinical results demonstrating efficient APOC3 gene editing and a significant reduction in triglyceride levels using its HEAL-101 candidate.
At the ESGCT 2026 conference, biotechnology firm Cellectis released new preclinical data for its investigational product, HEAL-101. The findings indicate that a single administration resulted in a 76% reduction of triglyceride levels in a murine model of the disease.
The research confirmed an in vivo editing rate of the human APOC3 gene reaching 70% following the treatment. Targeting the APOC3 gene is a therapeutic strategy aimed at managing metabolic conditions associated with elevated triglycerides, which are linked to cardiovascular risks.
The study highlights the application of the company's proprietary TALEN gene-editing platform. Cellectis continues to advance its internal pipeline, focusing on the potential for genetic therapies to address metabolic disorders through precise genomic modifications.
