Centalion and Komgo Integrate AI Agents into Treasury Operations

Centalion Group, a major commodity trading company, has integrated an AI treasury agent into its live operations, developed on Komgo's digital trade finance platform. This agent enables treasury professionals to manage trade finance instruments and facility workflows using natural language while retaining full governance and human approval.

The AI agent operates within Centalion's own cloud environment, combining a large language model with structured treasury workflows and business rules. It connects to Komgo's platform via an MCP connector, allowing Centalion to maintain control over its AI and orchestration logic while interacting securely with Komgo's infrastructure without point-to-point integration projects.

Initial deployments have focused on syndicated facilities. The company reports that the processing time for new issuances has decreased by approximately 55%, and for amendments by around 80%. With a full rollout across its trade finance activities, Centalion anticipates freeing up over 60 treasury workdays annually, which can be redirected towards risk monitoring and financing strategy optimization.

"We wanted to change how our treasury team interacts with technical infrastructure," said Olivier Thevenon, Treasury Manager at Centalion. "The agent can understand instructions, apply our rules, and prepare a transaction in seconds, while the decision remains with the team. This demonstrates the true potential of agent-based AI in commodity trading finance."

Baptiste Audren, Chief Revenue Officer at Komgo, stated that the collaboration showcases how corporate treasury teams can build and control their own AI capabilities on top of a trusted trade finance infrastructure.
