Center Parcs Plans Holiday Resort in Lusatia

Holiday resort operator Center Parcs has announced plans to construct a new holiday park in the Lusatia region of eastern Germany. Company representatives presented the plans during a meeting of the Lausitzer Seenland municipal association.

The proposed location for the new resort is situated between the Partwitzer and Sedlitzer lakes, near the border with Saxony. The project envisions the construction of 500 to 700 holiday homes, intended for year-round use. The total investment is estimated at approximately 300 million euros, positioning it as a significant tourism development project for the Lusatia area.

Feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, and regional planning evaluations are now underway and are expected to take around 18 months to complete. Center Parcs currently operates six parks within Germany, all located in the western part of the country, in addition to more than 20 international locations.

If realized, the Lusatia resort would be the company's first facility in eastern Germany. The Lusatia lake district, a former open-cast mining area, has been transformed into a growing tourist destination through the creation of interconnected lakes and waterways.
