The breach was initially detected on August 25, 2025, when suspicious activity was identified within the laboratory's computer systems. An investigation confirmed that an unauthorized third party gained access to patient data between August 9 and August 14, 2025.
Centers Laboratory began notifying affected individuals about the data breach on or around July 20, 2026, nearly a year after the incident occurred. The compromised information may include names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, passport numbers, driver's license numbers, medical information, and health insurance details.
