Central Arizona gets new groundwater supply from Mojave Water Bank

The agreement, finalized on July 4, 2026, is intended to significantly enhance the long-term water supply security for the district's service area.
The increased water allocation is designed to meet growing regional demand and ensure a consistent water supply for the future. This collaboration addresses Arizona's evolving water landscape, which faces challenges from climate change and population growth.
Cadiz Inc.'s Mojave Ground Water Bank, located in California, represents a substantial groundwater resource. The agreement seeks to utilize this resource sustainably, ensuring that local water needs are met.
CAIDD is responsible for water distribution and management in central Arizona. The new water source will enable the district to support and develop agriculture as well as other water-dependent industries within its jurisdiction.
