Century City Psychiatry Offers Outpatient Treatment for Kratom and 7-OH Dependence
Los Angeles-based Century City Psychiatry has launched a specialized outpatient program for adults struggling with dependence on kratom and 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) products.

Century City Psychiatry, a physician-owned outpatient psychiatric practice in Los Angeles, has established a specialized care program to address growing concerns around dependence on kratom and 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) products. The initiative aims to provide adults using traditional kratom, extracts, or concentrated 7-OH products with a path to recovery.
Kratom, derived from the Southeast Asian tree Mitragyna speciosa, has been available in the U.S. in various forms. However, newer, more concentrated 7-OH products have emerged, often marketed as natural wellness supplements without clear labeling of their 7-OH content. The substance interacts with brain receptors similar to opioids, potentially leading to physical dependence and severe withdrawal symptoms.
Many individuals who develop dependence find themselves in a gap of care. Traditional addiction clinics can be intimidating, and residential programs may be impractical for working adults. Century City Psychiatry's outpatient program offers a discreet alternative tailored for individuals with careers and family responsibilities.
The program was developed under the clinical leadership of founder and board-certified psychiatrist Dr. Mike Mah. Each treatment plan is individualized based on the patient's specific usage and goals. Treatment includes a comprehensive evaluation of use and a full medical and psychiatric history. For more severe dependence, medical support such as buprenorphine may be considered. Underlying conditions like anxiety and depression are also addressed as part of the comprehensive care plan.
