Cerebras Systems (CBRS) experienced a significant boost in its stock value on Wednesday, with shares climbing 11% during intraday trading. The surge followed the company's announcement of a new technology partnership with semiconductor giant AMD.

The collaboration will focus on developing joint AI inference solutions. The integrated offering will combine AMD's new Helios rack-scale solution with Cerebras' wafer-scale engine, which houses its large AI chips. This unified approach aims to streamline AI inference processing for demanding workloads.

The combined product is designed to deliver high-performance, scalable throughput for AI tasks requiring substantial processing power and large context windows. Cerebras will contribute its capabilities in rapid, low-latency memory bandwidth-intensive token generation. The partnership targets enhanced AI inference efficiency and speed.

Cerebras plans to deploy AMD Helios systems within its own data centers. The joint solution is slated for an initial release through Cerebras Cloud in the latter half of 2026, with broader availability expected thereafter. Cerebras CEO Andrew Feldman highlighted the growing need for rapid AI deployment, stating, "AI has moved from a novelty to useful, and in some areas, even a necessity. When it's a necessity, people want to use it fast."
