New York – CertifyOS, a company focused on provider data infrastructure, has launched its National Shared Credentialing Program. This new model is designed to reduce redundancies and significantly streamline the process of verifying and credentialing healthcare providers.
The program has secured initial commitments from major health plans including UnitedHealthcare, Cigna Healthcare, and Centene. The initiative aims to provide providers with a centralized credentialing home, intended to improve operational efficiency and patient access to care.
Traditional provider credentialing and recredentialing processes are often repetitive, leading to significant administrative burden and costs. The U.S. healthcare system spends an estimated over $2 billion annually on credential verification, with potential savings of up to 75 percent achievable through a unified data source.
CertifyOS's solution centralizes this data into an intelligent infrastructure that eliminates duplication. Participating health plans will share recredentialing rosters with CertifyOS, which will administer the process. Providers will only need to enter their information once through a central portal.
CertifyOS plans to launch the service in the fall of 2026. The company aims to improve the efficiency of the healthcare system and reduce the administrative workload for providers through this program.
