Chainguard Launches Chainguard Checks to Streamline Continuous Integration

Seattle, WA โ€“ October 14, 2026 โ€“ Chainguard, a provider of open-source solutions, has launched Chainguard Checks, a new continuous verification engine. This engine aims to integrate continuous integration (CI) into agentic development loops, enabling trusted verification of code as it is being written, rather than after submission.

Chainguard Checks transforms the CI process into a tool call that operates consistently everywhere, providing developers and AI agents with signed, trusted verification of their code in seconds. The goal is to eliminate CI bottlenecks, reduce compute costs, and mitigate software supply chain risks before code is submitted for review.

The company states that traditional CI processes have become a bottleneck in AI-assisted development, as agents produce code at a much faster rate than traditional CI systems are designed for. Chainguard Checks addresses this by embedding verification directly within the development loop and improving security through the avoidance of long-lived secrets and isolated execution environments.

"Verification now happens while the agent is working, and every successful run generates a signed attestation that travels with the code," said Dan Lorenc, CEO of Chainguard. "This enables immediate code merging without re-testing, saving time and resources."

Chainguard Checks offers features such as pre-installed dependencies, isolated execution environments (microVMs), short-lived credentials, network access controls, and signed attestations for each run. The tool is now available in a beta version.
