Chalmers University of Technology to Introduce New Space Systems Engineering Master's Program

Chalmers University of Technology is hosting an online webinar on October 14, 2026, to introduce its new Master's programme, NewSpace Systems Engineering. The event is intended for prospective Master's students considering studies starting in autumn 2027.

The webinar will provide an overview of the programme's content, structure, and four specializations: Space Propulsion, Space Structures and Materials, Space Electronics and Software, and Space Geodesy and Remote Sensing. It will also cover the distinctions of NewSpace compared to traditional space activities, project work, and connections to Chalmers' research, the Onsala Space Observatory, and industry.

Presenters include Programme Director Erik Bohlin, Professor Rüdiger Haas, and Associate Professor Karine le Bail from the Onsala Space Observatory, along with a Chalmers student ambassador sharing their academic experience. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the panel.

Chalmers has also updated its website with a new visual identity. The NewSpace Systems Engineering programme is positioned to meet the growing demand for engineers who can comprehend complete space systems and integrate innovation and commercialization.
