Changan Automobile: Industry Enters Mature Competition Phase with Record Low Profit Margins

Changan Automobile has acknowledged that the automotive industry is facing significant headwinds, characterized by pressure on the domestic market and complex international dynamics.

The company described the industry as entering a "competition for existing assets" phase, where profit margins have fallen to historic lows. This is compounded by the tapering of previous subsidy policies and increased consumer caution, which has significantly slowed the growth of domestic demand. To counter intensifying market competition, Changan Automobile is adhering to a business principle of value orientation and a balance between volume and profit, actively avoiding detrimental price wars. The company is focusing on building differentiated competitiveness through its products and services.

In its development of electric vehicle technology, Changan Automobile has made systematic investments in "three electrification" areas (battery, electric drive, electric control) and intelligent systems. The company has established the "Jinz hong" battery brand, which received a national second-class science and technology progress award. In electric drive systems, it has launched the industry's first mass-produced multi-in-one electric drive and is advancing the "Taihang" distributed electric drive technology towards mass production. For electric control, it has introduced the industry's first "seven-in-one" cross-domain integrated SVDC.

Regarding intelligent systems, Changan Automobile has obtained an L3-level autonomous driving test license and approval for L4-level self-developed Robotaxi testing. The company is developing its proprietary "Tianshu Navigator" intelligent assisted driving solution, which incorporates LiDAR and an "end-to-end" architecture. This system is entering mass production. Changan Automobile indicated plans to continue its independent research and industrialization of battery technology.
