The fifth Tourism Development Conference for Changsha city commenced on September 29 in Changsha, the capital of China's Hunan province.
The conference featured a diverse range of tourism offerings, including "red" culture study tours, ecological wellness tourism, rural leisure activities, smart manufacturing, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism. The objective is to position Changsha as a primary destination for short-term holidays.
Changsha county is developing a new vision for high-quality, integrated tourism across the region, focusing on four themes: "red" culture, green ecology, smart manufacturing, and openness. The area is promoting tourism routes connecting various sites, such as Bancang Resort and industrial tourism locations like GAC Aion.
Six thematic parallel events were also held during the conference, serving as a platform to boost tourism consumption. Changsha has hosted this development conference for five consecutive years, significantly stimulating the city's tourism growth and consumption. In 2025, both tourist numbers and total tourism spending in Changsha doubled compared to 2021.
