Chapter Renovation analysis links extended project schedules to higher total renovation costs

Chapter Renovation has released data examining the financial impact of construction timelines, arguing that project speed is a critical component of total cost. The firm notes that while homeowners often prioritize the lowest construction quote, ongoing expenses such as temporary housing, storage, and loan interest can quickly exceed any savings if a project takes longer than anticipated.

The firm reports an average completion time of 38 weeks for full-scope luxury renovations, compared to an industry average of 77 weeks. CEO Eran Polack stated that the cheapest contractor quote can become the most expensive option if the duration exceeds expectations. To assist homeowners in assessing this risk, the company has provided an online calculator that factors in monthly carrying costs relative to schedule delays.

To address these inefficiencies, the firm utilizes an integrated design-build model that coordinates permitting, procurement, and construction in parallel. According to COO Eli Moyal, the goal is to eliminate gaps between project phases. The company manages these workflows through its proprietary RenoTech platform, which uses AI to identify potential scheduling bottlenecks early in the development process.
