Chariot Claims Raises $10M to Pursue Consumer Complaints

Chariot Claims, a New York-based company, has raised $10 million in Series A funding led by Silverton Partners. Other investors included Indicator Ventures, Lightbank, Neon Fund, ZVC, Rosecliff Ventures, Alumni Ventures, FJ Labs, Graph Ventures, and Vermilion Ventures.

The company aims to assist consumers in pursuing claims against businesses accused of privacy violations, hidden fees, and hard-to-cancel subscriptions. Chariot Claims collaborates with law firms to identify potential cases, locate affected consumers, and gather the necessary information to seek compensation.

Founder and CEO Zim Hang established Chariot Claims after observing the challenges consumers face in obtaining redress from companies he believes have wronged them. He also identified an opportunity in mass arbitration, a method for pursuing individual claims when company contracts prevent class actions. The startup aims to address the gap where few law firms are equipped to manage thousands of individual claims simultaneously.

Chariot employs a system combining technology and human oversight to process consumer submissions. The company reports receiving over 200,000 claim submissions monthly and has handled approximately 80 cases under its current business model, which began just over a year ago. The newly raised capital will be used for hiring and product development, including AI tools to enhance case review and qualification processes.
