Chase and IHG Overhaul Hotel Credit Cards, Launch New Premium Option

Financial services firm Chase and hotel group IHG Hotels & Resorts have announced a significant refresh of their co-branded hotel credit cards. The overhaul includes the introduction of a new premium card, the IHG One Rewards Premier Select World Elite Mastercard, which carries an annual fee of $350.

The new premium card is designed for frequent travelers and comes with a suite of benefits intended to offset its cost. Cardholders will receive up to $300 annually in Food & Beverage Rewards, distributed quarterly, and a $200 airline statement credit for qualifying purchases. Additionally, the card offers $50 in United TravelBank Cash and automatically grants Platinum Elite status in the IHG One Rewards program, along with 20 Elite Night Credits per year.

IHG and Chase are also revising existing cards. The IHG One Rewards Premier World Elite Mastercard will see its annual fee increase from $99 to $150. For the higher fee, cardholders gain new credits, including up to $100 in annual Food & Beverage Rewards and a $100 airline statement credit. The card's Anniversary Free Night benefit is also enhanced, now redeemable for rooms valued up to 50,000 points.

Company representatives stated that the revamped card portfolio aims to cater to a diverse range of travelers, from occasional guests to loyal, high-spending patrons. The premium card targets IHG's most engaged members seeking status and premium perks, while the updated existing cards provide enhanced value for a broader customer base.
