ChatGPT adds voice-based AI assistant to mobile app

OpenAI has introduced a new voice-powered AI assistant feature to the ChatGPT mobile application. This update enables users to create documents, write emails, and summarize messages by speaking.

Pro and Plus subscribers can utilize the "Work" function on their phones to draft documents, compose emails, or condense Slack messages. Advanced capabilities include website creation, presentation generation, and the use of a cloud-based browser.

Free and Go subscribers will have access to plugins and connected applications. OpenAI stated that the text output generated through voice commands will be richer. Plus subscribers can switch seamlessly between text and voice, or transfer work initiated on their phone to a computer.

The update aims to enhance the user experience by allowing for more natural and efficient interaction with the AI assistant on mobile devices. It expands ChatGPT's utility beyond traditional text-based queries, offering a more dynamic way to manage tasks.
