ChatGPT can now analyze Apple Health data

OpenAI has launched an update for its ChatGPT Health feature, enabling it to analyze user health data, including Apple Health and medical records. This new capability is designed to provide users with deeper insights into their personal health.

The feature is available to logged-in users over 18 years old in the United States and supports various ChatGPT subscription plans. In addition to Apple Health, users can connect data from multiple U.S. hospital systems, as well as services like One Medical and Function Health.

OpenAI reports that over 300 million people ask ChatGPT health-related questions weekly. By connecting their health data, users can receive assistance in understanding medical terminology and preparing for doctor appointments. This integration aims to facilitate more informed consultations with healthcare providers.

Functionally, ChatGPT can summarize health changes since the last visit and identify trends in sleep, exercise, and daily activities. OpenAI assures that connected records and related conversations will not be used for training its foundation models or for targeted advertising. All data is encrypted during transmission and storage.
