ChatGPT update adds interactive visuals and buttons to responses
OpenAI is introducing an "Intelligent UI" feature for ChatGPT that allows the chatbot to answer questions with interactive visuals, including charts and buttons. The update rolls out to all users alongside GPT-6.

OpenAI is rolling out a new feature called "Intelligent UI" for ChatGPT, enabling the chatbot to incorporate interactive visuals into its responses. This update allows ChatGPT to combine text-based answers with diagrams, charts, forms, and tappable buttons, aiming to enhance user understanding.
The company explained in a blog post that GPT-6 has been trained to determine when to generate interactive visuals instead of solely text, and how to format them. An example provided by OpenAI demonstrates how ChatGPT could display a diagram of a bicycle's seven-speed mechanism when asked about its design, complete with interactive buttons to highlight specific parts.
This enhancement is designed to make complex information more accessible and engaging for users. By presenting data and explanations through a mix of text and interactive visuals, OpenAI seeks to improve the clarity and effectiveness of ChatGPT's communication.
The new feature signifies a step towards more dynamic and visually-rich interactions with AI. OpenAI stated that the aim is to deepen user engagement by offering multifaceted responses that cater to different learning and comprehension styles.
