ChemDAQ and Proline Medical Expand Chemical Vapor Monitoring in Australian Hospitals
ChemDAQ and Proline Medical have partnered to deploy continuous monitoring of hazardous chemical vapors in Australian hospitals ahead of new workplace exposure limits.
US-based hazardous gas monitoring solutions provider ChemDAQ and Australian healthcare company Proline Medical have formed a strategic partnership to expand access to continuous chemical vapor monitoring technology within Australian hospitals.
The collaboration will see Proline Medical offer ChemDAQ's sensor technology and monitoring systems for hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and peracetic acid (PAA) vapors to its clients across Australia. This aims to provide sterilization and reprocessing teams with real-time data on their work environment.
The partnership comes as Australia prepares to implement new Workplace Exposure Limits (WELs) on December 1, 2026. These regulations will halve the eight-hour time-weighted average limit for hydrogen peroxide to 0.5 ppm and introduce a 0.4 ppm peak limit for peracetic acid. Both companies aim to help facilities understand and reduce chemical exposure risks for staff.

Proline Medical will introduce the partnership at the Federation of Sterilizing Research and Advisory Councils of Australia (FSRACA) National Conference in Gold Coast. The move highlights a growing emphasis on occupational safety within healthcare, particularly concerning chemical handling.
