Chery Automobile Plans New Vehicle Lineup with Huawei for 2025

Chery Automobile plans to launch additional models in partnership with Huawei in 2025 to strengthen its product portfolio. Executive Vice President Qi Shilong confirmed the strategy following the release of the company's third-quarter financial results, citing the need to increase production volume to achieve profitability for the Luxeed brand.

To support this expansion, Chery has established a dedicated organization and production infrastructure for Luxeed. According to Qi, the objective is for Luxeed to operate as an independent entity with its own distinct identity rather than simply serving as an extension of Chery’s existing vehicle lines. This operational shift reflects Chery's ongoing efforts to transition into higher-priced market segments.

Recent government data indicates that Anhui Luxeed New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. is nearing approval for independent production qualification. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology documents show that Chery is transferring existing production facilities to the Luxeed subsidiary, a move designed to solidify the brand's operational independence. The company currently faces high research and development costs relative to its production scale, making volume growth a priority.
