Chinese automaker Chery announced the rollout of Apple Watch control functionality for its vehicles, beginning with the Fengyun T9L SUV.
The new feature allows drivers to sync their vehicle's status to their Apple Watch, enabling them to check battery range, air conditioning, and charging status. Users can also operate functions such as unlocking the doors, locating the car, activating the climate control, and opening the electric tailgate directly from their wrist.
The Fengyun T9L, launched in April, is a five-seater SUV with an official price range of 129,900 to 186,900 yuan (approximately $17,900 to $25,700 USD). It features Chery's 'Falcon 700+' intelligent driving assistance system and the Horizon Journey 6P chip.
The vehicle measures 4870x1930x1710mm with a wheelbase of 2920mm. It is equipped with a hybrid powertrain that offers a WLTC fuel consumption of 3.9 liters per 100 km. The four-wheel-drive version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under six seconds and has an electric-only range of 230 km.
