Chinese automaker Chery has officially declared its new iCAR V25, a plug-in hybrid utility vehicle equipped with an extended-range system. The comprehensive vehicle specifications were released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) this week.

The iCAR V25 is a five-seater SUV measuring 4636 mm in length, 1920 mm in width, and 1855 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2820 mm. Its powertrain integrates a 1.5-liter (1499 cc) combustion engine producing 115 kW, coupled with a lithium iron phosphate battery. The vehicle achieves a top speed of 180 km/h, and its reported WLTC fuel consumption is 1.54 liters per 100 kilometers.

Optional features for the iCAR V25 include a sunroof and advanced driver-assistance systems, with the option of equipping a lidar sensor. When fitted with a specialized towing device, the SUV can tow trailers up to 1800 kg. The curb weight varies between 2221 kg and 2240 kg, depending on the selected configuration.

This declaration marks another step in Chery's strategy to expand its electrified vehicle portfolio as it targets the growing demand for versatile and fuel-efficient SUVs in the Chinese market.
