Chery to Launch New QQ3 Modern Edition Electric Car on September 22
Chery has announced the upcoming launch of its new all-electric QQ3 Modern Edition small car on September 22. The vehicle features a retro design and multiple battery options.
Chinese automaker Chery has announced the official launch date for its new all-electric QQ3 Modern Edition small car, set for September 22. This new variant is a special edition of the existing QQ3 electric vehicle and was previously unveiled at the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show. The car aims to blend retro aesthetics with modern electric mobility for urban consumers.
The QQ3 Modern Edition boasts a retro exterior design, complete with distinctive round wheel arches, simple white decals, and body-colored accents. Inside, the cabin features a "houndstooth" pattern on the seats and a velvet-covered headliner. The vehicle is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor driving the rear wheels, offered in two power outputs: 58 kW and 90 kW, with corresponding torque figures of 90 Nm and 115 Nm.
All versions of the QQ3 Modern Edition will come standard with "Rhino" batteries, available in two capacities: 29.48 kWh and 41.28 kWh. These configurations provide CLTC-rated ranges of 310 km and 420 km, respectively. The car supports fast charging, capable of reaching 80% charge from 30% in under 16.5 minutes. It also includes a standard 6.6 kW external power output function. The chassis features a multi-link independent rear suspension and a tight turning radius of 5.2 meters.
The Chery QQ3 line has historically been positioned as an affordable small car in China. With the introduction of the electric QQ3 and its special edition variants like the Modern Edition, Chery is looking to cater to the growing demand for electric vehicles, particularly among younger buyers seeking distinctive styling and practical city transportation.
