Chess Tournament on Ice: First FIDE-Rated Competition at the South Pole
Six chess players from six continents will participate in a historic FIDE-rated chess tournament in Antarctica and at the South Pole this coming summer season.
Six chess players, representing all six inhabited continents, are set to travel to Antarctica and the Geographic South Pole this Antarctic summer season to attempt the Polar Chess Expedition. This undertaking marks the most geographically extreme chess tournament to date.
