Chicago Parking Workers Launch Strike Over Labor Dispute
Nearly 1,200 members of Teamsters Local 727 have initiated a strike against various Chicago-area parking operators following rejected contract terms.

Approximately 1,200 parking industry workers represented by Teamsters Local 727 walked off the job on Monday, launching a strike across the Chicago metropolitan area. The action follows the rejection of a collective bargaining offer from the Chicago Parking Association, which represents the city's major parking operators.
The union has filed or is in the process of filing charges with labor regulators, alleging that employers engaged in bad-faith bargaining, failed to disclose necessary information, and implemented unilateral changes to working conditions. Additional allegations include retaliation and illegal surveillance of staff.
Secretary-Treasurer John T. Coli Jr. stated that the union members are prepared to maintain the strike until a new agreement is reached. The dispute involves a wide range of companies, including SP Plus/Metropolis, LAZ Parking, and Interpark, potentially impacting operations throughout the city.
