China and Netherlands Signal Progress on Nexperia Dispute Through Negotiation
China's Ministry of Commerce stated progress in resolving issues surrounding Nexperia (安世半导体). Both nations advocate for companies to settle disputes through consultation, aiming to secure the global semiconductor supply chain.

China's Ministry of Commerce has indicated progress in ongoing discussions aimed at resolving issues pertaining to Nexperia (安世半导体), a semiconductor manufacturer with Dutch origins. Ministry spokesperson He Yadong stated on Tuesday that both the Chinese and Dutch governments should foster an environment conducive to companies resolving disputes through negotiation.
The remarks were made following a meeting between China's Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao and Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Liesje Schreinemacher during her recent visit to China. This meeting addressed broader Sino-Dutch and Sino-European economic and trade relations, highlighting a commitment to deepening cooperation that has lasted over a decade.
Both governments have agreed on the importance of creating optimal conditions for Nexperia to address its challenges. The core objective is to ensure the security and stability of the global semiconductor supply chain, a critical and often sensitive aspect of international trade and technology.
This development follows a period of complexity regarding Nexperia, including the Dutch government's prior temporary intervention. China's consistent stance has been to encourage direct dialogue between the involved business entities to find mutually agreeable solutions, supported by governmental facilitation.
