China Daily and the Anyang municipal government have collaborated to launch the Roots of Oracle Bone Civilization IP, a project unveiled in Anyang, Henan province. The launch coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Yinxu site's designation as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The initiative, developed by China Daily's Kunlun cultural platform, aims to promote the creative transformation and innovative use of oracle bone script, with the goal of sharing Chinese culture internationally. Officials highlighted the project's role in promoting Chinese culture globally.

The event was attended by representatives from both organizations, including Zhu Baoxia, deputy publisher of China Daily, and Ning Hongliang, head of Anyang's publicity department. Yinxu, the last capital of the Shang Dynasty, was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List on July 13, 2006. Over the past two decades, Anyang has focused on protecting, researching, and revitalizing the site.

According to Zhu Baoxia, the IP is part of China Daily's efforts to implement cultural heritage protection principles and the Global Civilization Initiative. The project is structured around four themes: Bronze, Jade, City, and Writing. It will be disseminated through China Daily's cultural knowledge database, reaching over 50 countries, with further collaborations planned with the Yinxu Museum.

The Roots of Oracle Bone Civilization IP seeks to translate oracle bone inscriptions into visual narratives that connect with elements such as bronze artifacts, jade objects, urban life, and landscapes. The project intends to move oracle bone script from academic study to public engagement and transform it from a cultural resource into a recognized cultural brand through various digital content, interactive experiences, and products.
