Chinese GPU developer Moore Threads has approved a plan to seek a listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange's Main Board. The company reported a 147% increase in revenue for the first half of the year.

Chinese graphics processing unit (GPU) developer Moore Threads has approved a plan for an initial public offering (IPO) on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The company's board sanctioned the plan to issue H shares on August 7, with the disclosure made on August 10. Specific details regarding the IPO timetable and the number of shares to be offered have not yet been finalized.
The company reported first-half revenue of RMB 1.74 billion (approximately $240 million), marking a substantial year-on-year increase of 147.42%. Moore Threads also reported a significant reduction in its net loss, which narrowed by 95.73% to RMB 11.6 million (approximately $1.6 million).
Expenditure on research and development stood at RMB 769.1 million (approximately $106 million) during the first half. Moore Threads operates in a highly competitive global GPU market, currently dominated by established players such as Nvidia and AMD. The Chinese government's focus on developing domestic semiconductor capabilities provides a supportive environment for companies like Moore Threads.
Securing a listing in Hong Kong could provide Moore Threads with the necessary capital to accelerate its product development cycles and expand its market presence, particularly in the rapidly growing sectors of artificial intelligence and data centers.
