The China Video Industry Association (CVIA) issued the inaugural group standard for 'LED Smart Projector Technical Specifications' on September 3, 2021. The standard was developed under the leadership of the Public Information Display (PID) Branch and Hangzhou Dangbei Network Technology Co., Ltd., with participation from industry experts and companies including XGIMI and TI.
The new standard establishes technical requirements for smart projectors, covering product descriptions, technical specifications, and testing methods. It also provides precise definitions and performance requirements for smart functions and operating systems, laying a technical groundwork for the smart projector industry.
Smart projectors, characterized by internet connectivity and smart operating systems, have gained traction as home entertainment devices. The Chinese market has experienced significant sales growth in this segment over recent years.
The standard addresses industry challenges such as unclear product definitions and inconsistencies in technical metrics like brightness and resolution. Dangbei, a key contributor to the standard, has emerged as a rapidly growing manufacturer in China's smart projector market.
The 'LED Smart Projector Technical Specifications' group standard officially took effect on September 1, 2021. It is expected to guide companies to improve product quality, promote technological advancement, and foster the sustainable development of the smart projector industry.
