China Post: "Village Delivery" coverage reaches 94% of target
China's National Post Bureau announced that its "Village Delivery" initiative has reached 94% of its annual target, adding 2,244 administrative villages to its coverage by the end of July.

China's National Post Bureau has reported significant progress in its "Village Delivery" (快递进村) program, aimed at expanding postal delivery services to rural areas. By the end of July, the program had achieved 94% of its annual target, adding 2,244 administrative villages to its coverage.
The initiative, launched in 2020, aims to improve logistics channels between rural and urban areas, facilitating the distribution of consumer goods to the countryside and the export of agricultural products. However, challenges persist, particularly in remote rural areas of central and western China, where coverage and service stability have been limited due to long delivery distances and high operating costs.
In response to these challenges, the National Post Bureau, in conjunction with China Post Group, initiated a special support program in January. This effort leverages China Post's existing universal postal service network to address the difficulties of delivering express mail to rural areas in central and western China.
As part of this program, China Post Group has developed tailored solutions for 2,062 counties and invested 210 million yuan. This has increased the vehicle delivery rate from 62% to 97% in selected pilot areas. Additionally, collaborations with transportation companies and the integration of passenger and freight routes have significantly enhanced logistics efficiency.
