China Railway Expands Discount for Seniors on Train Tickets
China Railway has expanded its discount program for passengers aged 60 and above. New rules offer additional savings on "Jing"-marked train tickets between October 18 and December 30.

China Railway has implemented a new discount initiative offering further savings on train tickets for passengers aged 60 and older. This move expands upon a previously introduced benefit that was limited to weekday travel.
Under the updated policy, individuals aged 60 and over can purchase "Jing"-marked train tickets for travel between October 18 and December 30, 2026. These tickets will receive an additional discount on top of existing fares. The offer is no longer restricted to weekdays, providing greater flexibility.
The discount applies to tickets with departure times from October 18, 2026, through December 30, 2026. Passengers can purchase these discounted tickets online or at station counters. The "Jing" designation indicates specific trains eligible for the senior discount, which will be marked as "é•¿è€…ä¼˜æƒ " (Elderly Discount) on the ticket details.
Eligible individuals, including those with disabilities who hold specific military or police identification, will receive this additional discount on top of their existing preferential ticket prices. Frequent senior travelers will also continue to earn triple loyalty points on eligible purchases, which can be redeemed for tickets or seat upgrades.
