The China Railway Museum's Zhengyangmen exhibition hall, located near Tiananmen Square in Beijing, officially reopened on July 1 following a comprehensive renovation. The updates aim to enhance visitor experience and showcase the evolution of China's railway system.

The upgraded hall now boasts a total exhibition area of 3492 square meters, featuring over 508 historical artifacts and 800 photographic materials. The expansion adds 650 square meters of new exhibition space and introduces more than 30 significant new artifacts. Notably, a new section on "Highland Railway Technology" displays items used during the construction of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway.

An interactive display illustrating China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail network has also been added. Visitors can select any line on a map model, which then lights up, providing a clear visualization of the national high-speed rail grid.

A key addition is the CR400AF Fuxing high-speed train simulator, accurately recreated on the museum's second floor. This simulator allows visitors, under staff guidance, to experience operating a high-speed train, offering a hands-on encounter with modern railway technology.

The museum operates on a free admission basis, requiring visitors to book their visit in advance through the museum's official WeChat account. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and closed on Mondays, except for public holidays.
