The surge in travel coincided with a national holiday period. Major departure cities included Peking, Guangzhou, and Chengdu, while popular arrival destinations featured Peking, Guangzhou, and Shanghai. Specific routes, such as those connecting Guangzhou and Changsha, experienced particularly concentrated passenger flow.
Availability of tickets for subsequent days was also detailed, indicating ample availability for various routes on October 4th-5th, including services between Peking and Jinan. Ticket availability remained strong for October 6th-8th on key lines like those connecting Peking and Shanghai.
To accommodate the demand, railway authorities planned an increase in services, scheduling 935 additional passenger trains for October 4th. The company reiterated that the sole official online ticketing platform is 12306.cn and its mobile application.
