China Railway has issued an official warning to consumers regarding third-party websites and applications that promise to facilitate train ticket purchases. Railway authorities stress that these platforms do not generate any tickets themselves, and that all "ticket scalping" ultimately funnels through the official 12306 system.

The official 12306 website and its mobile app are China Railway's sole official channels for online train ticket sales. They are committed to providing fair, secure, and convenient services to passengers. Railway authorities have not partnered with any third-party organizations and do not charge extra fees for services like "ticket acceleration," membership, or seat selection. Changes and cancellations are handled according to regulations, and personal information security is protected by law.

Third-party platforms can pose significant risks, including additional charges, bundled sales, misleading marketing, difficulties with ticket changes and cancellations, and personal data leakage. China Railway has identified several schemes used by these platforms to deceive travelers. These include misleading passengers via "fake educational" videos, mimicking the official 12306 platform's appearance to collect personal information, and exaggerating ticket availability to sell "acceleration packages."

China Railway employs advanced technologies, such as data analytics and risk control, to identify and curb irregular behavior. This includes the use of multiple accounts for non-personal purchases or unusual payment activities. Measures like placing accounts with abnormal behavior in a "slow queue" or rejecting payments aim to ensure system fairness and security. Passengers are urged to identify and avoid these fraudulent tactics and use only the official channels for their ticket purchases.
