China Revokes Over 4,200 Certificates for Power Banks and Lithium Batteries
China's State Administration for Market Regulation has revoked and cancelled over 4,200 CCC certificates for power banks and lithium batteries as part of a national compliance campaign.
China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has revoked and cancelled over 4,200 mandatory product certification (CCC) certificates related to power banks and lithium batteries. The action is part of a nationwide campaign to enforce compliance and ensure product quality and safety.
In addition to the cancellations, SAMR has suspended 108,500 CCC certificates, affecting 18,500 companies. The agency has also revoked 44,900 certificates in total, impacting 13,000 enterprises that failed to maintain required certification standards.
The campaign involves unannounced inspections of certification bodies and laboratories. This year, regulators have reviewed over 50,200 certification rules, rejecting 30,300 and ordering corrections for 17,700. Fines totaling 17.36 million yuan have been imposed in 131 cases involving violations by certification agencies.
These measures aim to uphold high product quality and safety standards for consumers in the Chinese market by ensuring that certified products meet all regulatory requirements.
