China Satcom Launches Satellite Mobile Data Services for Consumers
China Satcom has launched its "Satellite Mobile Data Services" for the consumer market, offering satellite internet connectivity. Three terminal options and data packages are now available for purchase.

Chinese satellite operator China Satcom (中国卫通) has officially launched its "Satellite Mobile Data Services" aimed at the consumer market. The service provides satellite internet access through three officially certified terminal devices, which are being sold by their manufacturers.
The service is designed for straightforward activation. Users connect to a compatible satellite internet terminal via Wi-Fi, log in to an online platform, activate a data service card, and can then begin using the satellite internet. China Satcom states the service offers high-speed and stable connectivity.
Three distinct packages are available to consumers, bundling hardware with data services. A portable satellite internet package, including a portable parabolic antenna and a one-year data plan (120GB total), is priced at 27,999 yuan (approximately $3,800 USD). A vehicle-mounted tablet-style satellite internet terminal costs 35,800 yuan (approximately $4,800 USD) and supports flexible, customized data plans. The most expensive option is a phased-array antenna terminal package at 47,200 yuan (approximately $6,500 USD), which includes the same one-year data plan as the portable version.
China Satcom indicates these solutions are tailored for various use cases, such as long-distance travel, outdoor camping, content creation, and professional fieldwork in diverse environments. The higher-end vehicle-mounted and phased-array antenna packages are specifically built to withstand challenging conditions and provide connectivity for moving platforms like cars and boats, enabling communication while in transit.
