China Southern Airlines Adds Twelfth C919 Aircraft to Fleet

China Southern Airlines has officially welcomed its twelfth domestically manufactured C919 passenger jet, identified by tail number B-659G, following its arrival at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. This induction marks the first C919 to join the airline's fleet during the current peak summer travel season.

Prior to this new addition, China Southern's existing C919 fleet had already completed over 800 flight segments since the summer travel period began, effectively managing the increased passenger demand. The newly inducted aircraft is slated to be rapidly integrated into the flight schedule to bolster services during the busy season, following completion of necessary onboarding procedures.

Future routes for the C919 are planned to include services from Changsha to Beijing Daxing, as well as to Chengdu Tianfu, Xi'an, and Shenyang. Separately, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has reported that a total of 41 C919 aircraft have been delivered, accumulating over 130,000 hours of safe flight time.

In a significant development, Air China is scheduled to operate a C919 on the route between Beijing and Ulan Bator, Mongolia's capital, starting August 12. This route will represent the C919 aircraft's inaugural international service.
