China Southern Power Grid Showcases AI Innovations Integrating Power, Carbon, and Computing
China Southern Power Grid presented its AI-powered electricity systems and technologies integrating power, carbon, and computing at the World AI Conference in Shanghai.

China Southern Power Grid (CSG) showcased its advancements in AI-powered electricity systems and integrated solutions for power, carbon, and computing at the 2026 World AI Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai. The company is working to coordinate these traditionally separate domains.
A key exhibit was MegaWatt Yunrui, an AI-native agent for distribution network planning. The system automatically generated a comprehensive planning report, including risk assessment and grid topology recommendations, in just 10 minutes. This solution was recognized as one of the conference's Top 10 Signature Exhibits.
CSG has focused on developing its proprietary technology stack, encompassing power sector foundation models, intelligent robots, and digital infrastructure, aiming to lead globally in coordinating electricity, carbon, and computing. The company presented several technologies described as domestic firsts and internationally advanced.
"We have integrated three systems that traditionally operated independently โ electricity, carbon and computing โ to establish China's first industry-level electricity-carbon-computing coordination platform," the company stated. This platform supports the digital transformation of next-generation power grids through intelligent operations and coordinated capabilities.
The company also introduced MegaWatt Multimodal 2.0, a foundation model for the power sector, and PowerAtomOS, a unified operating system for power sector IoT devices, designed for centralized management of millions of connected devices.
