China Telecom launches take-away food safety and tracking solution

China Telecom has launched its "Take Away Cloud Supervision - Food Safety Seal" solution, aimed at enhancing the safety and traceability of take-away food orders. This initiative extends the company's "Bright Kitchen" monitoring system to cover the entire delivery process.

The system combines real-time video surveillance in kitchens with AI-powered analytics. It is designed to detect various kitchen violations, such as improper use of personal protective equipment, employee smoking, mobile phone usage, and issues with waste bin lids. Alerts are issued immediately for any detected non-compliance, allowing for prompt corrective actions.

For take-away deliveries, the solution utilizes a 5G-enabled "smart sealing machine." This machine applies a tamper-evident and traceable "Food Safety Seal" to the food packaging. Video recordings of the sealing process are stored to create a comprehensive chain of custody.

Consumers can scan the "Food Safety Seal" upon receiving their order to access information about the entire process. China Telecom has deployed this system in cities including Shanghai and Nanjing to strengthen food safety oversight in the delivery sector.
