China's Ministry of Commerce, along with eight other central government departments, has issued new guidelines aimed at accelerating the adoption of technology within the commerce sector. The initiative seeks to enhance the supply of smart products, including smartphones, computers, home appliances, wearable devices, and robots, while also speeding up the market entry of advanced technologies such as brain-computer interfaces and embodied AI.
The guidelines emphasize technology's role in improving the quality of consumer goods and expanding service offerings. This involves deeper integration of artificial intelligence, IoT, cloud computing, and other advanced technologies into product development, manufacturing, and marketing. Focus will be placed on developing AI-driven personalized products and increasing manufacturing flexibility to meet diverse consumer demands.
Furthermore, the directives aim to optimize trade logistics and distribution. Proposals include promoting intelligent warehousing, smart logistics equipment, and autonomous delivery systems. The quality of e-commerce will also be enhanced, with efforts to leverage technology for quality standards and traceability, including the implementation of CCC certification codes.
Finally, the guidelines focus on utilizing technology to shape future commercial environments. This includes developing intelligent shopping experiences, virtual shopping options, and promoting green and integrated commerce concepts.
