China Unicom launches online lottery for eSIM service eligibility
China Unicom has initiated a limited-time online lottery campaign offering selected customers the chance to apply for eSIM services via its app. Successful applicants gain eligibility for 72 hours.
Chinese telecommunications provider China Unicom has launched a limited-time online lottery campaign that allows select customers to apply for its eSIM service. Users can enter a draw for the opportunity to complete the setup of an eSIM subscription through the company's mobile application.
The campaign has generated significant interest, with the webpage reportedly displaying "too much traffic" messages, indicating system overload. Those who win the draw are granted a 72-hour window to complete their application process. Failure to do so within this period will result in the forfeiture of their eligibility, requiring them to re-enter the lottery.
Customers who successfully obtain eligibility for online processing can then proceed to order the eSIM service via the China Unicom app. However, the final approval remains subject to rule checks conducted by the system and a manual review.
For customers who do not win the eligibility for online processing, alternative methods are offered. These include in-person service at a Unicom physical store or scheduling an appointment for an on-site visit from a company representative. China Unicom has stated that it reserves the right to cancel participation if any non-compliant behavior is detected.
