China's 2026 Box Office Exceeds 26 Billion Yuan

China's total box office revenue for 2026, including presales, has exceeded 26 billion yuan as of August 18, 2026, according to data from Maoyan Professional.

The films "Flying Life 3," "Kung Fu Football," and "A Letter to Grandma" are currently ranked as the top three highest-grossing films of the year. The summer movie season alone has generated over 10 billion yuan in ticket sales.

During the summer period, "Kung Fu Football," "The Eight Immortals!," and "Spider-Man: A New Day" were the top three performers. The season also saw 34 consecutive days with daily box office takings exceeding 100 million yuan.

Overall, the summer season attracted more than 630 million moviegoers, with over 93.7 million screenings. This indicates a significant recovery and strong audience engagement for the film industry in China.
