The number of monthly active users for AI-native applications in China reached 499 million as of May 2026. This figure represents an 85.4% increase from the same period last year, according to QuestMobile's first-half 2026 report released on July 14.

The report specifically measured apps built with AI at their core, distinguishing them from AI plugins or features integrated into device manufacturers' software. Users of these AI-native apps engaged with them an average of 92.7 times per month, totaling 183 minutes of usage.

Among the leading AI-native applications, Doubao recorded 382 million monthly active users, followed by Qwen with 167 million and DeepSeek with 130 million users.

Doubao also experienced a notable increase in its user base, adding 13.78 million users in June compared to May. This growth highlights the accelerating adoption of dedicated AI applications within the Chinese market.
