China's Donghai County Exhibits Crystal and Press-On Nails in Milan

Donghai County, China, presented its crystal and handcrafted press-on nail industries in Milan on September 23 during an event attended by designers, businesses, and cultural representatives. The gathering, themed "Crystal Shines Across the World, Commerce Connects the Future," coincided with the 10th anniversary of Donghai's designation by UNESCO as a "World Capital of Crystal." The initiative provided local manufacturers with an opportunity to build relationships within the international fashion community and access new markets.

The county's crystal trade exceeded 60.6 billion yuan in 2025. Donghai also produced over 300 million pairs of press-on nails, accounting for more than 70% of China's total output, with annual sales reaching 15 billion yuan. These products have been distributed to over 30 countries and regions.

Approximately 60 guests attended the event, including officials from the Chinese Consulate General in Milan, representatives from the Metropolitan City of Milan, and leaders from various business associations, fashion companies, design schools, and media outlets. Jiangsu Donghai Crystal Industry Development Group announced an initiative to connect international designers with Donghai's crystal and press-on nail makers.

New products resulting from collaborations between Donghai's makers and Italian designers were unveiled, showcasing a fusion of Chinese and Italian design aesthetics. An exhibition of crystal pieces and press-on nails from several Donghai-based companies, including Jiangsu Jingcheng Shangjia Press-On Nails Co., Ltd. and Donghai Jingyun Fuli Culture Co., Ltd., was also on display for visitors.
